On February 19, 2024, a devasting fire erupted on 1622 Ridge avenue in Philadelphia's Francisville neighborhood.
The blaze, which firefighters battled for hours, displaced at least 17 people, who were sent to missions and family members.
Thankfully, no fatalities occured although many pets perished in the fire.
At Legal-Eagles, were were deeply moved and have followed some of the lives of the displaced tentants.
Joel, who lost a pet cat, spent many months in a mission but finally was offered a place to live a Project Home on Fairmount ave. At project home he is allowed neither pets nor visitors.
His best friend larry, another elderly tenant was not so lucky. After spending many months in the shelter he suffered medical issues and was homeless and reportedly now in a nursing care facility.
The cause of the fire was determined unknown by the fire marshal, however, we had some evidence in the nature of photos that the electircal wires in the building and outside that were not safe. One of the tenants who was a electirican provided the photos.
The room that initially caught fire was unoccupied for days by the tenant.
We believe those affected deserve more than "we're sorry"-most of the tenants did not recover their security deposits and lost everything in the fire.
Legal-Eagles stands by the displaced tenants and if you know anyone who was impacted by this fire and needs legal support please contact us.
