Today on November 14, 2021 CEO and Founder of Legal-Eagles.org, David G. Lusick, attended the Annual Prisoner's Families Brunch. What a five star presentation of speakers, musicians, rappers, attorney's, and prisoner families. The event was held at the One Art Community Center in West Philadelphia past the Old Cathedral Cemetery. (Will Smiths old stomping ground.)
Mr. Lusick attended with his secretary Sherry Morrison. Mr. Lusick networked, made new partnerships, and met dozens of folks on the prison advocacy front lines. The food was homemade, in warmers, spread out over two long tables. fruit salad, bbq chicken, shrimp gumbo soup, french toast, marinated mozzarella, freshly made omelettes, sausage links, and much more.
The event was sponsored on behalf of political prisoner Russell "Maroon" Shoatz who spent over thirty years in isolation confinement. He was recently granted a compassionate release by a Judge and the Pa Dept of Corrections.
Attorney Timothy Welbeck, esq spoke as well as rapped at the event. He is a civil rights attorney and Assistant Professor at Philadelphia's Temple University. Mr. Lusick exchanged stories with the learned counsel as well as agreed to refer clients to him.
It was a momentous occasion of energy, expression, and good fun.
