WHY HIRE A PARALEGAL?

Let's face it. Hiring a attorney is cost prohibitive. Unless you were O.J Simpson, and could afford to hire the Dream Team of your choice, you probably have to borrow money from friends or family just to get a run of the mill lawyer. But hiring a paralegal is a cost effective solution. Let me tell you a quick story. I got a call the other day from a young man whose grandparents recently passed on. He had grown up with them in their house. He is there now with his sick father. He calls me up after he gets served by a process server with a Complaint for Ejectment. In other words, an eviction. Unbeknownst to him, a cousin, had become the executrix of the estate. She hired a lawyer, who served him and his father with a legal complaint to get out. So I had him sign a declaration under Pandemic rule on moratorium and send to the attorney and his cousin. Likewise, I drafted a motion defending against the groundless charges in the complaint. I instructed him to mail it to the clerk of courts in Philadelphia. Now, is my client happy with this arrangement. You bet he is. He only paid a fraction of the cost of what an attorney would have charged for the same thing. Now is cousin is on the hook to pay exorbitant legal fees because the matter will go before a judge. More motions will be filed. And he is now under no threat of eviction. Cost effective solution and a wise decision by my client has given him peace of mind after the terrible loss of his grandparents who raised him.
